Hypertension is a chronic medical condition.

Hypertension In which the blood pressure in the arteries increases. This requires the heart to work harder to circulate blood through the blood vessels. Blood pressure is summarized by 2 measurements, systolic and diastolic, depending on whether the heart muscle is contracting (systolic) or continuing between beats (diastolic) and is equal to the maximum and minimum pressures, respectively.High Blood Pressure Treatment | Beneficial in Dizziness, Heart Blockage, fatigue, Nervous Tension, & Heart Rejuvenation

Normal blood pressure at rest is within the range of 100–140 mm Hg systolic (top reading) and 60 to 90 mm Hg diastolic (bottom reading). High blood pressure is said to be present when it is consistently at or above 140/90 mm Hg.

High blood pressure is a major risk factor for stroke, myocardial infarction (heart attack), heart failure, etc. A moderate increase in blood pressure has also been associated with a shorter life expectancy.

Diet and lifestyle changes can help control blood pressure and reduce the risk of associated health complications, although drug treatment is necessary for those for whom lifestyle changes are not sufficient or effective.

Blood pressure is a measure of the force against the movement of our arteries as our heart pumps blood through our bodies. The higher the pressure, the more difficult it is for the heart to pump blood.
