What is An Anal Fissure?
An anal fissure is a tear in the skin of the anal canal that causes severe sharp pain before and after defecation, usually with bright red blood appearing on the surface of the stool. The incidence of Fissure in and is similar in both males and females.
The pain and burning in the anal canal will be so severe that the patient may avoid defecation for several days, which can again lead to constipation and worsen the condition. Due to the burning and pain, the patient will be restless, and unable to concentrate on his routine, and hence it is embarrassing and debilitating.
An anal fissure is a linear ulcer in the lining of the anal canal.
An anal fissure can be superficial and deep or acute and chronic.
Acute: Acute fissures heal on their own within 6 to 8 weeks.

- Constipation: Fissures are usually caused by the passage of large and hard stools.
- Sedentary Lifestyle: No physical exercise can cause hard stool which leads to cracking.
- Irregular Eating Habits: Improper and untimely eating.
- Usually occurs in women during pregnancy and childbirth.

- Low dietary fiber intake and low fluid intake.
