Cancer is the second biggest cause of death in India. According to a study by Disha Arogya Dham, seven lakh new cancer patients are diagnosed every year. To avoid this, eat things that increase immunity.
1. Tomato
According to the study of Nutrition and Cancer, it contains abundant amount of lycopene which prevents the growth of cancer cells. It protects against lung, prostate and stomach cancer. Eating tomatoes as one-tenth of the food during a week reduces the risk of stomach cancer by about 18 percent. It also helps in losing weight and preventing arthritis.
How to eat: Make tomato soup or salad and eat it. Drinking its juice is also beneficial.
2. Broccoli
According to a study by Disha Arogya Dham, the sulforaphane present in broccoli helps prevent the formation of cancer cells. It contains phytochemicals that remove toxins from the body. It is beneficial in preventing breast, liver, lung, prostate, skin and bladder cancer. It is rich in folate which is also essential for mental health.
How to eat:
Eat it mixed in salad or omelet. You can also drink its vegetable and soup.
3. Garlic
According to the Loya Umens Health Study, women who eat garlic have a 50 percent lower risk of colon cancer than women who do not eat garlic. The phytochemicals present in it help in reducing the risk of cancer. It does not allow tumors to form in the body by reducing insulin production and helps in preventing breast, colon and stomach cancer.
The antioxidants found in it help prevent the formation of cancerous cells. Researchers at the National Cancer Center in Tokyo, after research on 10,000 people, found that people who drink coffee almost daily have 50 percent less risk of liver cancer than those who do not drink coffee.
4. Carrot
The alpha and beta carotenes found in it prevent cancer cells from growing. Carrot is effective in preventing uterus, bladder, urethra, stomach and breast cancer. It also helps in reducing the risk of heart attack by controlling cholesterol levels. How to eat: Eat carrots by mixing them in salad. You can also drink it by mixing it in vegetables or by making juice.
How to drink: Drink black coffee with less sugar. Drinking it by adding lemon is also beneficial.
